But what if? You want to book a private tour with me, but you want OTHER PEOPLE to join you, to divide the costs?
You don't have to ask me if you're the one who books it! Each tour lists a maximum limit of participants. Within that limit, you can allow anyone you like into your private group.
However, please understand that I CAN'T organize the composition of any private (combined) groups, as I'm far too busy trying to run other tours. At the beginning of the tour, I will only be collecting the total fee from the person who contacted me and booked the tour. It's that person's own responsibility to collect any money other people may have agreed to pay.

Kobe's Best [6 Hours]

Kobe Riverside Stroll [4 Hours, Cool in summer!]

Walk alongside a flowing river and take in the cherry blossomsーa truly unforgettable life experience. The sakura (Cherry Trees), which line the river's banks, stand out beautifully against the clean, flowing water thanks to the gentle pink petals on their petals. Much of the river is lined with large evergreen trees, shadowing the path.

Starting at Osaka station, we will embark on a journey in every direction, emerging in unexpected locations. Like a true Japanese salariman, we can indulge in a delicious and affordable lunch or snack from one of the many hidden restaurants that have been operating for decades in less touristy areas. And if you're feeling thirsty, why not grab a drink too?

But don't be fooled into thinking that this underground world is all old and outdated. In fact, there are trendy and modern shopping zones that have been recently added to the Osaka tunnel network. Osaka's Creepiest [6 Hours]

I'll pick you up. Then let's go see the old-style Tsutenkaku tower and the Shinsekai historic area, an area formerly bombed flat by the Allies. (Remember that) Lunch at a nice place I know, if you'd like.

Walk thru a large public cemetery and several temples, including one built by a samurai family as a tribute to the famous "47 Samurai. " (On the way, you'll learn the answer to the question: "What did they do with all the bodies?")
See if you can detect any ghosts in the area!

Enjoy Osaka Castle, remains of the largest Japanese castle. Once besieged for nearly 2 years, and cleverly constructed to kill many attackers.

Go to Doutombouri riverfront area. See the famous "Glico man" sign and the Don Quijote shop/ferris wheel.

Only a walking tour through a central tourist area in Japan? You may think there's nothing to fear, but beware! The Japanese people have mostly forgotten their monsters, but those monsters certainly haven't forgotten them!

Japan is home to a variety of hideously scary-looking yokai (monsters), dangerous yokai, and yokai that cannot be seen at all! But not all Japanese yokai are bad. In fact, you'll learn about one type that is believed to bring good luck to your home.

However, the same cannot be said for Japanese ghosts. They are simply dangerous and evil. Japanese ghosts, wherever found, want to cause the deaths of more people so that they won't be lonely anymore.

Kyoto Sacred Nature Tour [4 Hours]

Buddhist temples in Japan exude an exquisite beauty, harmoniously blending with the surrounding nature. Amidst these enchanting Japanese gardens, distinguishing the meticulous craftsmanship of the Japanese master gardeners from the untouched wonders of natural growth can prove to be quite a challenge.

Embark on a leisurely stroll, as we unveil the hidden secrets concealed within the gardens of some lesser-known yet exceptional Kyoto temples. There will be numerous opportunities to make the most of your camera, or you may choose to fully immerse yourself in our walk, savoring each moment and embracing the present.

NOTE: I decided not to time-limit this tour to the autumn, as the locations are still quite nice to visit when the trees all have green leaves, or when they have few leaves at all. In the fall, we'll engage in a bit of momijigari, as the Japanese call hunting for the prettiest orange, red and yellow leaves.

1) I don't plan lengthy or multi-day tours. If you're looking for those, I recommend checking with other guides. I prefer to focus on creating unique, short tours of the quirky, off-the-beaten-path spots that I love and know well.

2) I don't do tours that rely on cars or taxis. My tours revolve around walking and using public transportation. Parking can be a nightmare here, and sometimes it's faster to walk or take a train than to drive. Japan has amazing transportation options like trains, subways, taxis, buses, ropeways, cable cars, and trams. I actually gave up my license years ago!

3) My tours don't follow a strict itinerary. I don't plan every minute in advance. The tour descriptions are just a rough guide. Since I'm a local, we'll chat and figure out our plan when we meet. I might change things up as we go along, especially if places unexpectedly close or if there are transportation delays. If that happens, we'll find something else fun to do instead.

I suggest a total of at least 3000 yen cash per person for incidental expenses. These may include:

You are responsible for covering your personal expenses like drinks, snacks, and meals. (You don't need to pay for mine.)

Entry to certain shrines, temples, gardens, museums. Such fees are usually small, but note that Osaka Castle tower entry is 2000 yen, and Sky Building's rooftop viewpoint is now also 2000 yen

Transportation: Walking or Train/Bus/Subway (not included) You MAY use your own IC Cards (Suica/Icoca/Pitapa) for transit. If you don't have one, I loan IC cards to cover in-city transit. The cost is ¥2,500 per card, available on-the-spot to anyone interested. Please help me retrieve all cards after your tour

Good idea to bring change/small bills to use in vending machines to buy drinks. There will be convenience stores, and may be souvenir shops on the road

Shrines and some small shops still only take Japanese cash. Big shops and markets take credit cards and often many other payment methods as well
