Nara—Beauty in the Mountains

I had the amazing opportunity to recently guide a small group on a delightful stroll through the picturesque mountain town of Nara, Japan. Our main highlights included feeding the adorable deer and marveling at the breathtaking Great Buddha statue (Daibutsu).

Just an hour away by train from the port in Osaka, Nara is a must-visit destination for a day trip. The deer were incredibly friendly, especially once I demonstrated to the group how to feed them safely (especially important in the fall season, when the males are rutting).

As we continued our stroll through Nara, we also visited the stunning Todai-ji Temple, home to the Great Buddha statue. The sheer size and beauty of the statue left us in awe, and we couldn't help but feel a sense of peace and tranquility in its presence. The intricate details of the temple's architecture were truly remarkable, showcasing the rich history and culture of Japan.

Nara's charm and beauty captivated us at every turn, making it a day trip that will always hold a special place in the heart.
